Lessons I Learned While Camping: A Fresh Face with the Bare Essentials

I had the opportunity to go on a camping trip this past weekend and I learned some new tricks for staying groomed and refreshed without any of my regular beauty products. Why did I need to be so fresh and clean? Well, because we were going camping!

The first thing you should do before heading out is pack your essentials: toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, contact lens solution (if needed), makeup remover wipes or lotion with salicylic acid in it (for breakouts), face wash. These are all things that will help get rid of excess dirt and bacteria from your skin which will keep you feeling fresher than ever!

Use a dry shampoo when you need to. Sometimes, I don’t have the time or energy in the morning for my usual shower routine and that’s okay! You can quickly spray some dry shampoo on your roots before heading out! The best part is that it not only gets rid of any excess dirt from your scalp but also adds volume and texture to your hair.

Why not use a natural dry shampoo? It’s even better for the environment and is easy on sensitive skin! I love using baking soda with cornstarch because it absorbs all of the oil from my roots without leaving behind any residue or white streaks in my hair. You can make your own by mixing them together, but I like to buy the pre-made kind so it’s less work for me.

Another great way to keep yourself feeling refreshed while camping is by using essential oils! I love lavender because it has a calming scent and helps relax the mind. You can either add a few drops of oil to your bathwater or put them in a diffuser. This will help you feel relaxed and at home, even while camping.
